This policy explains what personal data DESITechnology ("we", "us") collects through desitechnology.com, DESI ID and our platforms such as DesiSurveys.com and DesiTasks.com, why we collect it, and the choices you have. We follow India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.

Our promise in one line: we collect as little as possible, we use it only to run our services, and we never sell your personal data.

1. Who we are

DESITechnology is run by its founder, Ashutosh (Founder, DESITechnology), from Jhalawar, Rajasthan, India. DESITechnology is not yet a registered company, so the founder is responsible for this website and your data. Contact: hello@desitechnology.com.

2. What we collect

DESI ID account: your name and email address. If you sign in with Google or LinkedIn, we receive only your name, email address and an account ID from them. We do not receive your password, contacts, friends list or posts.
Passkeys (fingerprint / face login): we store only a public key and a device name you choose. Your fingerprint and face data never leave your device and we can never see them.
DESI Coins activity: the coins you earned and why (for example a daily check-in date, a platform rating, or a friend joining with your invite link), and who invited you. Coins have no cash value and are never sold or shared.
Where you are (roughly): your city and state, if you add them. When you sign in, we also save a rough state and country worked out by our hosting provider (Cloudflare) from your internet connection, so we can see which parts of India we reach. We never store your exact location, GPS or address.
Feedback you send: your message, the platform it is about, and your email if you choose to give it.
Sign-in records: when you last signed in, and your browser type, to keep your account secure.
Spam protection: a scrambled (hashed) version of your IP address, used only to stop abuse. We do not store your actual IP address.

We do not collect Aadhaar, PAN, bank details or payment information.

3. Why we use it

To create your DESI ID and let you sign in to our platforms.
To send you sign-in codes and important account messages.
To read and act on your feedback.
To keep our services safe and prevent misuse.

We do not use your data for advertising profiles, and we do not sell, rent or trade it.

4. Cookies

We use one essential cookie, dt_session, to keep you signed in. It lasts up to 30 days or until you sign out. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.

5. Who helps us run the service

Cloudflare — hosting, database and security.
Resend — sending sign-in code emails.
Google and LinkedIn — only if you choose to sign in with them.

They process data only to provide these services to us. Some of them may store data outside India.

6. How long we keep data

Account data: until you delete your DESI ID.
Sign-in codes: deleted within a day.
Feedback: until it has been handled, then deleted or kept without your email.

7. Your rights and how to delete your data

You can see, correct and delete your data at any time:

See or correct: sign in and open My DESI ID.
Delete everything: open My DESI ID → Security → Delete my DESI ID. This permanently removes your account, sign-in methods, passkeys, coins, check-ins and ratings.
Disconnect Google or LinkedIn: from the same page, under Ways to sign in.
Or email hello@desitechnology.com from the email on your account and we will do it for you.

8. Age

Our services are for people aged 18 and above. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has signed up, please contact us and we will delete the account.

9. Security

We use encrypted connections (HTTPS), store only scrambled versions of sign-in codes and session keys, and limit how often anyone can try to sign in. No system is perfect, so please never share your sign-in codes with anyone. We will never ask for them.

If we change this policy, we will update the date above. Important changes will be shown on the website.
